Unique to the region of Kyoto, where it gets the "Kyo" in its name, Kyobancha is harvested from leaves matured over the winter months and considered the last tea of the year. It's then roasted, giving it a soothing woody flavor and making it a very easy to drink tea that is also mostly caffeine-free.

Very interesting

When I first opened the bag I thought "this almost smells like a pile of fallen leaves during autumn". It's totally unique, kind of woody, kind of vegetal. My sister says it tastes like the tea you get from a chinese restaurant; my friend said he picked up almost a seaweed flavor. However you describe it, it's quite good and well worth a try.
